Hannah & Brandon

5.13.2023 | Swan Lake Overlook

How We Met

Hannah and Brandon knew of us from one of our former couples, Sidney and Devin. In December of 2021, Hannah was a bridesmaid in Sidney and Devin’s wedding, so she got to fully see us in action. In August of 2022, it was Hannah’s time to be a bride, so she reached out to us to see about having Marmaros be a part of her day too! It wasn’t long after initially hearing from Hannah and Brandon that we had a May 2023 wedding on our calendar. We were so excited - it’s always fun to get to plan a wedding for familiar faces!

Love Story

We

Down to Business

We first met with Hannah and Brandon in person at Barnes and Noble at The Collection in Forsyth. It was so nice to have a chance to get to meet with both of them in person and to hear all about what they were envisioning for their wedding day! Following meetings shifted to virtual to accommodate Hannah's teaching schedule, but they were still ever so productive! In April, we headed to Dahlonega to see Swan Lake Overlook in person for the first time and to do a final walkthrough. The evening before the wedding, we headed back to the venue and practiced the ceremony atop of the hill before Hannah and Brandon’s wedding party and family went back to the house for rehearsal dinner.

The Big Day

The day was finally here! It was finally Hannah and Brandon’s wedding day! The ladies spent the morning hanging out together and getting hair and makeup done by Bombshell Creations. We arrived at Swan Lake Overlook and worked on unloading the rentals, said our hellos, and then got straight to setting up the reception space. Heather Crouse Photography and Garrick Debowles, their videographer, arrived and started to capture the details of the day. Hannah got in her dress from Hanan Bridal Boutique and her ladies got in their dresses from Azazie. Once she was all ready, we led Hannah from the bridal suite to where she was going to do a first look with her honey! I know we say this every time, but we really mean it when we say one of our favorite parts of a wedding day is witnessing when a couple sees one another for the first time - it’s so sweet! Heather whisked Hannah and Brandon away to capture some dreamy couple portraits before knocking out some wedding party photos and immediate family photos. Guests started to arrive, so we tucked everyone away and made sure everyone had a moment to freshen up and grab some water before the ceremony.

Once all of the guests were seated and had the cute paper fans in hand, we sent Brandon and their officiant, Bill, down the aisle followed by the wedding party and Hannah and her dad. Bill was a family friend of the couple, so he made their wedding so personal and memorable! Before we knew it, Hannah and Brandon were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Waller for the first time!

Guests headed down the hill and to the patio in front of the reception space for cocktail hour where they enjoyed some appetizers from Sandra Bottom’s Catering and drinks from Everlasting Events. Hannah and Brandon stayed up on the hill and knocked out the remaining photos in front of the stunning cross that was covered in florals by Funky Mountain Flowers & Gifts. Once photos were taken, Hannah and Brandon headed back to the bridal suite to enjoy some quiet time together where they sipped on some ice cold margaritas! We were ready to start the reception, so we invited guests to find their seats inside and then got the wedding party lined up for introductions. The new Mr. and Mrs. Waller were introduced (for a second time) and then went straight into their first dance before hearing a heartfelt speech from Brandon’s father. The food was blessed by Bill and then everyone headed to the buffet and enjoyed some time eating and mingling with one another. Hannah and Brandon headed over and cut their cakes from Acuna’s Cakes before heading back to their seats to hear speeches from their people of honor. We invited guests back out to the patio to watch Hannah share a dance with her father followed by Brandon’s dance with his mother. Next, it was party time! The dance floor was officially opened and Sounds Right Entertainment kept the party going all evening. At the end of the night, we had the guests line up to wave some UGA colored pom poms for the newlyweds to run to before they hopped in their getaway vehicle and headed away!

Something Spectacular

Most couples decide to pick one specific thing that makes their wedding memorable to their guests. Sometimes, this is the smallest of details, and other times this is the largest of details. For Hannah and Brandon, their uniquely memorable thing was a large detail - their getaway vehicle. When it was time for us to send the lovebirds off to their mountainous getaway, we invited guests out back to line the lake. A helicopter with Prestige Helicopters landed on the little island and picked up Hannah and Brandon. The newlyweds were whisked away to their getaway and their guests left in awe of how incredible the couple’s getaway vehicle was!

Happily Ever After

It was such a joy getting to work with Hannah and Brandon throughout their engagement. Seeing the joy these two had on wedding day was so heartwarming and we wish nothing but the best for the new Mr. and Mrs. Waller!
