How We Met

There are a few different connections for how Kinsey and Zach met and chose Marmaros for their big day! Kinsey and Mallory were actually in the same sorority back in college, but their paths never really crossed outside of the bid day friend invite & follows on social media. Kinsey is also great friends with one of our favorite photographers, Ashley of Ash + Miles. After following along one another's lives on social media (and obsessing over all the Disney posts) after all of these years, Mallory saw that Kinsey and Zach had gotten engaged which is always such an exciting post to see! Early in the planning process, Kinsey posted that she was looking for a planner & Mallory reached out letting her know that we would love to help out. Once Kinsey had solidified some details like venue and date, she reached out to Marmaros to check to see if we were available and we were! After a chat going over all the things that Marmaros handles on wedding day, Kinsey and Zach sent over a signed contract and we were SO excited to be playing a part of their May wedding day!

Love Story

MEET CUTE

it started off as a joke...

We find it humorous how close we were too each other throughout our lives but just never crossed paths. It started at a family friend of Kinsey's family game night. Zach coached their daughter and Kinsey babysat her as she grew up. The same night as game night, Zach had texted her mom to check in to see how she was doing, she exclaimed "That Zach is so sweet, I just love him!" Then the older brother chimed in with a "oh yeah, he is the best!" So Kinsey joking said "Is he single?" as a young single girl does! Ha! All the sudden you see stars light up in the mom's eyes with excitement "KINSEY DO YOU WANT TO GO ON A BLIND DATE?" and that was it. She was determined. One week later she called Kinsey after dropping off her daughter at practice and asked with giddy "Soooo were you serious about that blind date? Because I talked to him and he is soooo interested." And that was that. She gave him Kinsey's number when she picked her up and he texted her that night. However she did not answer.... he texted the wrong number! Haha! So the next morning he tried again and sure enough, she replied with a super witty answer. And he was hooked. The rest is history...

Down to Business

After booking Marmaros, we got the first planning call between Mallory and Kinsey on the calendar! Kinsey came into the planning process with a solid idea of what her vision was which is always so helpful! We worked through the logistics of vendors, timeline, and floor plan together and Kinsey was always so great with narrowing down on the exact plans for the day together. We continued to have calls throughout the planning process and were sometimes joined by Ashley (which we loved). As we got closer to wedding day, Kinsey, Mallory, and Ashley, headed down to the venue to walk the space and confirm final details with Piedmont Garden Tent. It was all starting to feel so real! We were ready for the wedding day which was right around the corner!

The Big Day

Wedding day was here!! The ladies morning started with hair and makeup by Salon Wave handling hair and The B Word handling makeup at The Candler Hotel. When the event rental time started at Piedmont Garden Tent, Marmaros arrived and started to put things in the planned places while the wedding party was still at the hotel knocking out getting ready photos. After some time had passed, vendors and the wedding party started to arrive at the venue and you could tell how excited everyone was for the day to come! We got Kinsey tucked away and settled in the bridal suite as we showed the wedding party where they would be going after the processional in the ceremony. Kinsey did a sweet first look with her dad, followed by knocking out some photos of her with her girls. Next, we grabbed the guys to knock out some of those group photos before we tucked everyone away to rest a little (and hydrate) before it was time for the ceremony!

In perfect garden party fashion, Bridgerton style music played as guests arrived and took their seats. The processional began with the parents and grandparents walking down the aisle to Married Life from Up. Next, Zach and their officiant, Brad, walked down the aisle to take their place. The wedding party followed by the flower girls and ring security walked down the aisle to set the scene for the upcoming bridal entrance. Kinsey and her dad took a few deep breaths before walking down the aisle to Zach (who hadn’t seen his bride yet). Brad performed a personal and intimate ceremony, and at the end Kinsey and Zach’s love was sealed with a kiss! Happily Ever After started playing and everyone seated started to applaud the new Mr. and Mrs. Sweeney!

After the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy some cocktails and appetizers for a cocktail hour while Ash + Miles knocked out photos. Once photos were wrapped up, Kinsey and Zach took a moment to themselves in the bridal suite as guests found their seats for the reception. Mix Pro ATL, the DJ for the evening, played Bring Em Out as he introduced the wedding party followed by Back That Thang Up  to get the crowd hyped up for Mr. and Mrs. Sweeney! We heard a welcome speech by Kinsey’s dad and then the stationed dinner was open to enjoy. After everyone wrapped up eating delicious food from Park Tavern,  Kinsey and Zach headed over to cut their cake from Confection Perfection. And of course, what goes better with cake than champagne?! Kinsey and Zach poured champagne into a champagne tower before heading back to their seats to hear toasts from some of their loved ones. Kinsey and Zach both shared dances with their parents before the dance floor opened for the night. Both the dance floor and the photobooth, which was also provided by Mix Pro ATL, were popular all night long - the guests were really enjoying themselves! Towards the end of the night, we passed out individual cups of Jeni’s Ice Cream for guests to enjoy as a late night snack. Alas, the day came to an end. We lined guests up outside to get ready for the send off while Kinsey and Zach shared a private last dance with one another. After the last dance, the guests blew bubbles and everyone cheered as the new Mr. and Mrs. ran through and headed off to their Happily Ever After!

Something Spectacular

We might be biased when it comes to this something special, but Kinsey and Zach truly had one of the cutest details to make their wedding day uniquely theirs. Both Kinsey and Zach love all things Disney, so they found ways to incorporate touches of Disney in their big day. There were Disney songs playing throughout the day and hidden Mickey’s on their wedding cake, but our favorite Disney touch was their table numbers and escort cards! For their “table numbers” Kinsey and Zach selected some of their favorite rides and named each table after a specific ride. For guests to find their seats, Kinsey and Zach opted for escort cards. Their escort cards were designed to look like fast passes for the rides that each table was named after (and they were absolutely adorable). We loved this unique Disney touch to their wedding day!

Happily Ever After

We could not be happier for Kinsey and Zach! We were so honored to get to play a small part in their big day. We know the best days are still to come and we cannot wait to follow along with their love story. Here’s to the Sweeney’s and to the next trip to Disney!
