How We Met

Sandra reached out to us last August looking for a planner for her wedding at Barn South. She found us on Instagram and really was looking for some help to make her and Victor’s day amazing! We had a phone call to go over what we offer and how we could be the ones to allow them to enjoy their day. Not too long after, they were booked with us and we were ready for their October wedding!

Love Story

We love hearing how our couples found each other and fell in love. Read here Sandra's account of their love story!

"Our story begins in the fall of 2017. We knew of each other through mutual friends. For months we messaged each other on social media then finally, we met when Victor helped me get an interview at XPO Logistics (I got the job)! Fast forward months later, we were always together: during and after work hours. His love and acceptance for my daughter (Ariana) won me over most of all. We can't wait to see where life takes us, but we're in it for a lifetime!"

Down to Business

Our meetings with Sandra & Victor happened at Panera during their lunch break. This was so ideal for them so they didn’t have to get additional childcare and for us since we are always down for some Panera at lunchtime! At our meetings, we accomplished tasks and made sure our logistics were exactly what they needed to make sure we were on the same page!

The Big Day

When we arrived at Barn South on the wedding day, Make Me Up was finishing up working on the ladies' hair and make-up while Julia from JBlair Floral Design was working on the ceremony site! We began laying out the sheer runners so JBlair Floral Design could lay down some greenery on top of them and our floating candles to make Barn South’s beautiful farm tables perfect for guests. Alfredo Briones Films arrived and began getting detail shots and other important photos as Victor and his groomsmen arrived and began getting ready for the day!

Hair and Makeup wrapped up with the ladies and the bridesmaids were asked to step into their dresses before doing a first look with Sandra to see her in her dress for the first time!

As Sandra and the bridesmaids were taking photos, Chris from Sound Insight Productions was finishing setting up his space and doing a soundcheck. The Band, Banda Valle, also arrived and began setting up their instruments as well. Sweet Magnolia Catering had to create an outside prep kitchen in order to feed everyone but they didn’t mind - the day was so pretty that being outside was actually the better option! Richard and his crew made sure they were ready to go for cocktail hour and food. Soon, guests were beginning to arrive and find their seats outside for the ceremony.

We lined up the bridal party and with the start of the music, the processional began. Sandra & Victor didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony but watching them see each other as they walked towards each other was so sweet! Their officiant Victor Alvarado did their ceremony in both Spanish and English so everyone in the crowd could understand as these two became one! After the ceremony, guests were invited over to cocktail hour with fire pits and heaters as they ordered drinks and hung out as Sandra & Victor finished the photos.

When guests were invited into the reception space, we had them come in, pick up their escort cards, and find their seats where salads were waiting for them. Finally, it was time to introduce Sandra & Victor and their guests went crazy! They did their first dance and sat at their sweetheart table as Sweet Magnolia started bringing out dinner for everyone. As guests were eating, Banda Valle began playing! After Sandra & Victor had some food they walked around and talked to a few of their guests before lots of couples flooded the dance floor to begin dancing! We loved how everyone just wanted to dance! The photo booth from Off the Wall Photo Booths was very popular with everyone as well and they were enjoying taking photos with their friends!

We pulled Sandra & Victor to the side to cut the cake from Acuna’s Custom Cakes which was almost too pretty to eat! Sandra & Victor said a thank you to their guests before inviting them back onto the dance floor to dance the rest of the night - kicking off dancing with the snake dance and bouquet toss! After about an hour of dancing, we pulled everyone outside for a fake send-off with sparklers which are always our favorites under string lights!

One last surprise for the end of the night was the Chick-fil-A food truck! This was such a fun addition to the day and everyone went crazy for Chick-fil-A (like always)! When it was time to leave for the night, the band played multiple encores before all the guests packed up and left for the night with the memories of how fun Sandra & Victor’s day was!

Something Spectacular

We loved the way that Sandra & Victor included their kids on their wedding day. From being the flower girl & ring bearer in the ceremony to a family dance following the first dance, it was so sweet to see how the day wasn’t just about Sandra & Victor but about their already established family!

Happily Ever After

Sandra & Victor’s day was so fun and working with them leading up to their wedding was so rewarding! We know that they will continue to live life to the fullest as they go forward as a married couple! We are so thankful that these two trusted us with their day! Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Cabrera!
