How We Met
Leanne & Aaron reached out to us in June of 2021 in need of a coordinator. They were getting married in Blairsville which got Megan very excited since her in-laws have a house up there and she loves the area! Since Leanne works in the restaurant industry and we work weird hours due to weddings and other odd jobs, it took us a minute to find a time to finally chat. Once we did, we were so excited to hear about Leanne & Aaron and what they needed for their wedding, and how we fit right in and could help with their needs. Not too long after, Leanne & Aaron booked us and we were ready to go for their wedding!
Love Story
We love hearing how our couples fell in love! Leanne & Aaron started out as friends and were slow to become anything more. But after they had been dating, Aarron made the most ordinary day of Leanne's life one she will never forget! Read more about their story below!
"Aaron and Leanne first became friends in 2015 when he was working at a bike shop in Duluth, and she was working at a restaurant in Cumming. Every Wednesday Aaron would stop by on his way home to have dinner at the bar to hang out with Leanne while she was working. If she wasn't at work, he would take his food to go.
Fast-forward to 2018, Aaron had been living and going to school in Midtown Atlanta for a couple of years and Leanne reached out while he was getting ready to leave town for an internship. After Facetiming throughout the summer, Aaron started going to visit every weekend and they started dating. For their first date they explored midtown and for their second they had brunch in Roswell and then went mountain biking. They instantly connected over their love of the outdoors and fun-loving personalities. Aaron graduated from college in December 2020 and started his career in June 2021. A couple of months later he proposed, on August 8th, 2021. Aaron knew it would be tough to surprise Leanne by proposing with some grand gesture. She knew it was coming so anytime they went anywhere, a Braves game, the Botanical Gardens, or even out to dinner, she was patting Aaron’s pockets to see if he was hiding a ring. Aaron surprised Leanne by proposing when she would not expect it, on what seemed like an ordinary day after she got home from work. Before she was completely settled, she walked into the living room to find Aaron on one knee. They celebrated that night by going out for ramen with Leanne’s parents and sister.
For most of their relationship, they were both in school, taking turns supporting and encouraging each other. Their relationship has still been filled with lots of fun and adventures. Together they’ve enjoyed mountain biking, road biking, trail running, several trips to the Botanical Gardens, Braves games, Six Flags, yearly visits to the beach on St. Simons Island, and even one trip to The Fox Theater to see Hamilton.
Leanne and Aaron share a home in Roswell, Georgia, with their two dogs, Pierce and Alice. In the coming years Leanne will continue her studies and they will look forward to buying a house and starting a family."
Down to Business
Since both of us work in hospitality, finding days to meet kind of fell all over the place so Google Hangouts was always our best option to meet. We answered any questions Leanne & Aaron had and tried to ease their minds of any stress they might be having during planning. We would text questions or comments back and forth to make sure we were always on the same page. Our first walkthrough day got threatened by snow (that didn’t really end up happening), but our second walkthrough day took and we were so excited to see Conley Creek! We met to talk about the timeline and floor plan with the venue and Raven from Raven Scott Creative who also was a bridesmaid! We fell in love with the location and spaces Conley Creek had to offer! The next time we saw the space it was rehearsal day. There was this very special buzz in the air since everyone, including the wedding party, was so excited to get Leanne & Aaron married!
The Big Day
On the big day, Vigilante Cosmetics started early in the morning working on hair and makeup, which wasn’t a big deal since all the ladies stayed either in the bridal cabin the night before or in a cabin nearby. We arrived early in the afternoon, unloaded our things, and checked in on the bridal cabin. Brandi Sisson, their photographer, was already hard at work capturing details and candid photos for the day. Aaron and the groomsmen arrived not long after ready for a good day! Aaron was so thoughtful and had both his father and his step-father as groomsmen along with Leanne & Aaron’s mutual friend, Lauren, stand on his side. We loved being able to hang out and get to know the “groomspeople” (as we all ended up calling them) while we were waiting for Leanne to be done with her hair! All of Leanne & Aaron’s wedding party was so easy to get along with and joke with which always makes our job so much more fun!
When hair and makeup was complete, Brandi got robe photos of all the bridesmaids and Leanne stepped into her dress from The Sentimentalist with the help of her mom. We took her straight to the chapel where Aaron was already waiting for her in order for them to do their first look. After many tears (some even from vendors watching), Leanne & Aaron exchanged their vows privately before getting photos of just the two of them together. We went back down to the reception space where Leanne did a first look with her father before tucking everyone away to cool off a bit before it was time for the ceremony. We hid the couple and their wedding party away as guests began to arrive and find their seats for the ceremony down by the chapel. It wouldn’t be long before we began lining up! In the meantime, DJ Cuttlefish, RobotBooth, and Catering by Cindy arrived to get set up for the day just as Raven Scott Creative, the florist, was putting the finishing touches on the room.
The golf carts took Aaron, the family, and the wedding party over to the ceremony site while the most adorable vintage blue truck arrived at the bridal suite ready to take Leanne over. With family and bridal party in place, we began down the aisle ready for a great day. The little blue truck pulled Leanne around to the double doors where her father was waiting for her. We opened the doors and the pure bliss on her face was something we will remember forever. After a sweet ceremony by a friend of Leanne’s who has seen this couple blossom, they were announced as husband and wife to the pops of confetti! More confetti and petals fell over the couple as they left their ceremony site. Such a fun exit!
Guests were dismissed to the reception space for cocktails, appetizers, and coffee courtesy of The Coffee Camper Co! The family and wedding party were asked to hang back for photos before we got more of Leanne & Aaron together.
We moved over to the reception space where the bridal party and our newlyweds were introduced before Leanne & Aaron shared their first dance. Leanne’s dad said the welcome and the blessing before we opened the delicious-smelling buffet! Leanne & Aaron ate their food before walking around and talking with their guests. Everyone was welcome to use the photo booth thanks to RobotBooth in front of the STUNNING floral wall put together by Raven Scott Creative. We cut the very beautiful and (if it’s possible) even better-tasting cake from Pine Cone Bakery before hearing heartfelt toasts from 4 of Leanne & Aaron’s closest friends. Aaron danced with his mother and we opened the dance floor! Guests mingled and used the photo booth all throughout the evening. We sent our sweet couple off to sparklers before everyone came back in and mingled a little more before the night was over. We couldn’t have pictured a better night!
Something Spectacular
Since Raven is one of Leanne’s closest friends and a stunning floral designer, Raven’s company Raven Scott Creative, did all the florals for Leanne & Aaron as a surprise. Leanne picked the colors and talked a little about specific flowers, but everything else was a complete surprise! So as a sweet gesture, Leanne & Aaron did a room reveal with Raven before guests were allowed into the reception space! Getting to see Leanne get emotional over her vision coming to life and see Aaron get so excited over the floral wall was truly a highlight of the day for us so I’m sure it meant the world to Raven to see their reaction as well! Such a sweet touch to their day!
Happily Ever After
Working with Leanne & Aaron on their wedding day was truly an honor for us. They were so chill and open to changes and new ideas, not only from us but from other vendors as well. They just wanted their day to be the best and most relaxing possible for everyone involved and it truly was that! At one point after the ceremony, Aaron asked us where this ranked in how the day was running and we told him it was so easy and chill! We loved being able to be a part of their day and build a friendship with both of them. We know that they will only grow deeper in their love for each other as time goes on. Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Highsmith!
