How We Met

Like many couples, Krissy and Harrison found us through their venue - Barn South. When Krissy reached out to us in June of 2022, she already had a good vision of what she wanted her wedding day to look like. We hopped on a call and chatted about Barn South, wedding plans, and how Marmaros could be a benefit to her day. Shortly after, we had a March of 2023 wedding in the books. We were so excited to be heading back to Barn South!

Love Story

"We met through a childhood best friend of ours... shoutout to you Hannah! At the time, Harrison was beginning his career as a newly commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army while Krissy was focused on graduating. We were not looking for a relationship; however, sometimes love finds you when you least expect it.

The majority of our four-year relationship has been long-distance. Whether it was Krissy's studying abroad or Harrison’s demanding responsibilities to the Army, we’ve always managed to make it work with handwritten letters through snail mail, a TON of Facetime, and squeezing in as many activities as we could during the times we were together.

His Words

I can't think of a better partner than Krissy. She has been by my side through my most challenging times and cherished my proudest moments. I am in constant awe of what she is capable of, and I am truly humbled to be her future husband. She not only makes me a better person but also a better follower of Christ. I am incredibly grateful for her presence in my life, and I am ready to get married to my best friend.

Her Words

Harrison is quite literally my better half - the calm to my crazy, the cautious to my impulsiveness, and the reasoning to my overthinking. He knows me better than I know myself, and he's the first person I go to whenever anything happens - whether it be good, bad, or mundane. He genuinely listens to everything I say and loves me for who I am (which isn't an easy task!), and I'm forever grateful that he chose me to be his wife.

I thank God for you every day, Harrison Ling.

Let’s get MARRIED!!"

Down to Business

Krissy and Mallory first met up at Cafe Mixx in Suwanee and when getting to know one another realized that Krissy got engaged at Mallory’s childhood church, Perimeter, and they had a lot of mutual connections! Meetings varied between in-person and virtual and were always very productive. By the time we did a final walkthrough at Barn South, all of the t’s were crossed and the i’s were dotted - we just needed to be in the space to fully be able to envision the decorations and the day as a whole! A few weeks later, we headed back to Barn South for a rehearsal where we actually had the live musicians there for rehearsal! We were all so excited because the following day was the wedding day!

The Big Day

It was finally wedding day and the day started at Barn South for the ladies where they were getting their hair done by Alice Lee Artistry and their makeup done by Rebecca Gao. Katie James, their photographer, and Anna with Pine Trail Films got straight to work capturing the details of the day and cute pajama photos. Their DJ, Jay of One Night Entertainment, arrived right at the same time that we did and started setting up and testing the sound for the day. The bridesmaids got in their dresses from Azazie and then headed out to the main space in anticipation of their first look with Krissy. After Krissy was all zipped in her dress from Bel Fiore, she headed out to show off her dress to her bridesmaids and take sweet photos with them! Meanwhile, our guys were out in the airstream getting ready in their State & Liberty suits. Next, Krissy did a first look with her dad while Harrison did a first look with his mom. We haven’t seen many groom & mom first looks but we loved the idea of it! The time had finally come when Krissy and Harrison got to see one another on their wedding day! They shared personal vows with one another and then started to knock out all of the photos of the day.

Before we knew it, guests started to arrive and find their seats for the ceremony. Mei and Mark, the violinists, started playing beautiful music and we were ready to send everyone down the aisle! After a personal and sentimental ceremony, Krissy and Harrison were pronounced husband and wife! Guests were then invited to a cocktail hour where they enjoyed an incredible charcuterie spread that Krissy’s ladies put together and drinks from Get Fizzy - the cutest little bar! We quickly got to work flipping the room and transforming it from ceremony to the vision that Krissy had in her head for so long! Krissy and Harrison took a moment to themselves in the bridal suite where they munched on their dinner so that they could optimize their time mingling with guests during dinner.

Once we had wrapped up with the room flip, we invited guests to start finding their seats. Our wedding party was introduced and then our newlyweds entered! They shared in a choreographed first dance before hearing a heartfelt speech and blessing by Krissy’s father. Since the couple had already eaten dinner, they headed outside to take some stunning sunset photos while everyone enjoyed some food from JS Kitchen. Once they were back inside from sunset photos, Krissy and Harrison invited their guests to join them in the photo booth provided by Star Pix Photo Booth. Next, they headed over to the cake table and cut the incredible cake by Syndesi before hearing speeches by the maid of honor, best man, and our groom. To wrap up the reception formalities, Krissy and Harrison shared special dances with their parents and both of those dances had a twist to them. Both Krissy and Harrison prepared to have a traditional slower dance and then the song would remix and them and their parents started to break it down on the dance floor - SO fun! This group was ready to party and once the dance floor was officially opened, it was electric! You know a party is a fun one when it feels like time flies by, but alas after some time it was time to get the guests lined up for a sparkler send off so that we can send these two into their happily ever after!

Something Spectacular

A lot of times couples pick someone who is close to them to officiate their wedding and that is exactly what Krissy and Harrison did! Krissy’s dad, CJ, walked his daughter down the aisle and then stood before Krissy and Harrison and led these two in their vows to become husband and wife. We thought this was such a sweet choice for an officiant and surely this elevated their ceremony and provided memories that will last a lifetime!

Happily Ever After

Shortly after the wedding day, Krissy and Harrison moved across seas, and although we were sad to see them move so far away we know that great things are in store for them! We wish nothing but the best to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ling!
