Kelley & Jon

10.13.2023 | Butterfly Pavilion

How We Met

Kelley and Jon heard from us from their venue, The Butterfly Pavilion. We heard from them in February and set up a video call with them where we got to hear a little about them and their vision for their big day. Shortly after that call, they booked us and we had an October wedding at The Butterfly Pavilion on our calendar!

Down to Business

Since Kelley and Jon both work in events, they were always so on top of things when it came to wedding planning! We held all of our meetings on Google Meets, but did get the chance to meet in person at the venue at their 30 day walkthrough! At the walkthrough, we had dotted our i’s and crossed our t’s and we were just so excited to be headed back to The Butterfly Pavilion in a month for rehearsal and wedding day! The night prior to wedding day, Kelley & Jon, their families, and wedding party all gathered at The Butterfly Pavilion for a rehearsal. After a few run throughs, we were all rehearsed and ready to go for the next day!

The Big Day

Once our venue access time started, we said our hello’s to the ladies who were being made up by Make Me Up and started to unpack and set up the decorations that Kelley and Jon brought in. Meanwhile, Tyler, our DJ with One Night Entertainment, Jordan, the florist with Forte Fleur Floral Design, and Brooke, their photographer, arrived and got straight to work! Brooke started to capture the details of the day while Kelley got into her incredible dress from Wedding Angels Bridal. Once Kelley was ready for the day, we headed into some first looks. First, Kelley did a sweet first look with her son, Gage. Next, it was time for Jon to see his bride! First looks never get old, and Kelley and Jon’s did not disappoint! After having some time together after their first look, Brooke took Kelley and Jon to knock out some couple portraits followed by some full wedding party photos.

The day was flying by, and Tyler had started to play some seating music as guests started to arrive and take their seats. Since the weather was so unpredictable (and because Kelley’s dress had a stunning lace train) we made the tough call to have the ceremony under the pavilion to avoid the sprinkle in the air and the mud on the ground. We sent everyone down the aisle and we were ready to witness Kelley and Jon become husband and wife! Jon’s stepdad officiated and we love the personal touches he was able to add to their ceremony from being such a personal connection to the couple. After an exchange of rings and vows, Kelley and Jon were pronounced husband and wife and everyone could not have been more excited! Guests were invited down to the starlight dance floor where they enjoyed some appetizers from Southern Crust and some drinks from Get Fizzy. Meanwhile, in the pavilion, Brooke finished knocking out the rest of the formal photos.

After cocktail hour, we invited guests back up to the pavilion to find their seats so that we could get the reception started. Tyler introduced the wedding party in pairs before introducing the new Mr. & Mrs. Stowe! Kelley and Jon went straight into their first dance to All of Me by John Legend - truly a classic! Kelley’s mom was invited to the front of the dance floor to give a welcome speech followed by a blessing of the food done by Jon’s brother, Justin. Typically, we don’t have our couples go get their own food, but since Kelley and Jon had a food truck, they wanted to have the whole experience! This wasn’t any old food truck though - they had a wood-fired brick oven pizza truck! After eating some delicious pizza and mingling with their guests, Kelley and Jon headed over to cut the cake from Raven Cowart Desserts. Before opening the dance floor, we still had some formalities to do. After the final formal dances wrapped up, guests flooded the dance floor and danced the night away! We ended the night with a sparkler send off and Kelley and Jon went off to their happily ever after!

Something Spectacular

Kelley and Jon really made their day about family and it was so evident throughout the day. Sadly, one of Jon’s brothers unexpectedly passed away about a year ago, but he was still so present during Kelley and Jon’s big day. They had a seat reserved all day that had one of his polos and hats on it. We also saw how their day was focused on family during the ceremony when they had Jon’s stepdad as the officiant and Kelly’s son, Gage, escort her down the aisle. Lastly, in addition to the traditional formal dances, Kelley shared a dance with Gage and Jon shared a dance with his new daughter, Ava. We loved seeing all of the different ways Kelley and Jon incorporated their family love throughout their big day and focused on the union of the families.

Happily Ever After

It was such a pleasure getting to be part of Kelley & Jon's big day. From all of the meetings leading up to the wedding to the last minute of wedding day, we couldn't have asked for a better couple to have worked with. We know the future is bright for them and we wish nothing but the best to the new Mr. & Mrs. Stowe!
