How We Met

Mallory met our groom, Joe, on her first day of work at Hi-Rez Studios around six and a half years ago! There was a small group that were all hired for the same position on the same day, so friendships formed pretty instantly since they were all working together every day. Mallory was thrilled when she found out that Joe had proposed to Iva and was incredibly honored when they reached out to Marmaros for their wedding planning needs. When we found out that they had booked The Butterfly Pavilion for their venue, we knew that we were going to have such an incredible October wedding!

Down to Business

We were so excited to get started with wedding planning, so once we had Iva and Joe’s wedding on our calendar we got straight to scheduling our first meeting with them! We met over Google Meets throughout the whole planning process which made things so easy and convenient. As we got closer to wedding day, we headed over to The Butterfly Pavilion for our final walkthrough. It had been a while since Iva and her mom had been to the venue so it was nice for her to get a chance to walk around and for us to nail down all of the final details. Prior to the wedding day, we rehearsed at the venue and we could tell that this group was ready and so excited for the following day!

The Big Day

The day was finally here! It was Iva and Joe’s wedding day! The ladies started the day with getting makeup done by Rebecca Gao. We arrived at the venue and said our hellos to the guys and girls before getting started on setting up all of the beautiful decorations that Iva and Joe had brought in. Our photographer, Devan, of Hey Devan Photo, arrived and got started with capturing some getting-ready photos before heading into Iva and Joe’s first look! Once Joe got to see his bride, and they got to have some time together, we knocked out the wedding party photos before tucking everyone away to rest before the ceremony.

The day felt like it was flying by. Guests started to arrive and take their seats down in the field. Meanwhile, we got our wedding party all lined up and ready for the ceremony. Pastor Kevin led such a great ceremony. He was able to make the service personal and intimate both because he had met with Iva and Joe leading up to the wedding day and because he also officiated Iva’s sister's wedding a few years back! Iva and Joe shared a kiss and were announced husband and wife and all of their loved ones were so happy for them! Next, guests were invited to the starlight dance floor to enjoy some appetizers passed by Posh Event Staffing and some drinks provided by Royal Libations. We gathered all of the family to knock out the final large group photos and then Iva and Joe headed off to take some stunning couple photos. We love following photographers and videographers around in this part of the day and assisting in any way possible because it is so incredible to see the photo & video magic happen!

Once we were ready for reception, we invited the guests to find their seats in the pavilion. Our wedding party was introduced and hyped up the crowd for when the new Mr. & Mrs. MacKenzie was introduced! Iva and Joe headed into their first dance, then went straight into their parent dances. Next, we heard a welcome speech and a blessing from Iva’s dad, Ivan. Once the food was blessed, guests were invited to go through the buffet and grab some yummy food from Scrumptious Fare Catering. Towards the end of dinner, we got to hear some lovely toasts from Iva and Joe’s people of honor and then we opened up the dance floor! Guests flooded the dance floor which was filled with the music from MSA Entertainment and also stopped by the photobooth which was also provided by MSA. At the end of the night, Iva tossed her bouquet to the forever classic - Single Ladies. To wrap up the night, we took everyone out front and lit up some sparklers for Iva and Joe to run through to lead everyone to leave for their after-party. This was truly such an incredible night!

Something Spectacular

Once the sun had set and the dance floor was open, Devan took Iva and Joe out front for a little mini photoshoot. We grabbed a bottle of champagne and some sunglasses and headed to the string lights at the front of The Butterfly Pavilion. It was so fun to watch Devan direct Iva and Joe in spraying and sipping on some champagne to create some super fun photos! We loved this idea because it gave Iva and Joe some more couple portraits, but with a different vibe than the formal ones they had taken earlier in the day.

Happily Ever After

It is always such a joy to see a couple become officially official and see their vision come to life and this was definitely the case for Iva and Joe! We couldn’t have imagined a better celebration for these two. We know the future is bright for the MacKenzies and we wish nothing but the best for them!
