How We Met
Grace & Richard found us on The Knot. At the time, Grace & Richard were living long distances and very new to planning! We had our discovery call on Google Hangouts between the three of us and talked about their wedding and about how Marmaros could help them plan their perfect day! A little under a year from their wedding date, Grace & Richard officially hired us and we were so excited to get started!
Down to Business
Eventually, all of us ended up in the same state but we continued to meet virtually. We talked about the timeline and logistics for their wedding day. In one meeting, we even pulled in Simon Ly, their photographer, to make sure that everything worked for him as well. With details complete and design solidified, we went to Bishop Station for the first time to do a walk-through to start to visualize Grace & Richard’s day. We left that day feeling so excited and ready for their wedding day!
The Big Day
The ladies started getting ready bright and early on the wedding day with Susanna Wom starting hair and makeup. Grace and Richard’s families had each rented an Airbnb in the city near Bishop Station to spend the weekend together and to get ready for the wedding. Simon Ly Photography & Jittery Feeling Videography started at Grace’s Airbnb, so Hope Blooms Florals dropped the personal florals off for detail shots and the beginning of photos! Grace stepped into her dress from The White Room and it was perfection on her! After getting dressed and all ready at the Airbnb, Grace & Richard did their first look, exchanged vows, and took photos together before getting family photos with their immediate family at the Airbnbs.
In the meantime, our time at Bishop Station began! All the chairs for the ceremony were set up and Boxwood Event Rentals had already delivered the tables and candlesticks Grace had ordered for the reception. Hope Blooms Florals arrived first and began setting up the deconstructed arch for the ceremony along with putting baby's breath in the chandeliers. We arrived soon after and unloaded our own rentals along with sorting through the decorations Grace & Richard had given us.
Grace & Richard had so much respect for their family that they rented soft seating for their grandparents along with an outside seating area in the courtyard. Southern Vintage Furniture arrived with all vintage seating and started to set it up! Soon Grace & Richard arrived looking like the beautiful couple they are! They took a few more photos before hiding away in the basement as guests began to arrive!
Before we knew it, it was time to begin the ceremony! We lined up the family and began the processional! Their ceremony was so beautiful and personalized to them. Their officiant had known both of them for a while and told stories about both of them individually and together before we heard personal vows from both Grace & Richard. Personal vows are our favorite way to see a little deeper into our couple’s love story - we love them! Next, they exchanged rings, kissed, and became a newly married couple! They danced down the aisle then we released the guests to the basement for cocktail hour while we jumped into family photos.
While family photos were going on, we began to flip the room. Flipping the room is the hardest part of our job but also the most satisfying to see the room go from ceremony to reception! With the help of Three Sisters Catering, we knocked out the flip so quickly! We loved how Grace & Richard wanted two long tables down the center of the room for family and close friends. The romantic feel of the taper candlesticks and bud vases brightened the room. All the other round tables had beautiful blush crushed velvet tablecloths with stunning centerpieces! The room was looking so perfect as Grace’s vision came to life!
We invited guests to find their seats, which didn’t take long since Grace & Richard had QR codes printed out so guests could find their seats while they were in cocktail hour. Once everyone was seated, we brought in our newlyweds except one thing was different. Grace did a full-blown change! Grace changed into her dress from Proxi Bridal, but her dress was not the only thing different. During the cocktail hour, Susanna Wom came and put Grace’s hair in an updo! What a fun surprise! Richard’s father said the blessing over the food before the buffet opened and the guests were invited to taste the amazing food by Three Sisters Catering!
Once everyone had been through the buffet, Grace & Richard came over to the cake table to cut the beautiful cakes by Syndesi and the rice cake by Daisy Flowercake. That wasn’t all the sweets for the night! Oioi Sweets made beautiful and delicious macarons, one flavor even had the custom design of Grace & Richard’s dog on it! So sweet! Next, Grace & Richard wanted to play the shoe game which was so fun and had all the guests laughing before we heard toasts from Richard & Grace’s close friends and Grace’s dad! We only had one last formal thing to do for the night and that was dance. We started with the first dance between Grace & Richard before moving on to the parent dances. To our surprise, both Grace & Richard’s dances with their parents were fun and choreographed! We enjoyed it SO much! Grace and Richard said a quick thank you to their guests before Covenant Audio opened up the dance floor!
We snuck out for some sunset photos before Simon Ly & Jittery Feeling had to leave and Grace & Richard went back to dancing. Not long after the dance floor took off, we set out the late-night snack of ramen noodles on the porch as guests played games, socialized outside in the courtyard, or danced the night away inside. A perfect way to end the night!
Something Spectacular
Grace & Richard were very family focused. Their bridal party consisted of both their sisters and that’s all. The sisters walked with their parents down the aisle and took a seat in the front. Only Grace & Richard stood together for their ceremony! Before anything official started, they both took a moment to honor and thank both sets of parents with a hug! Now, just because friends weren’t in the bridal party doesn’t mean they weren’t involved! All of Grace & Richard’s friends arrived at the venue early to hang drapes from the pipes in the ceiling and to be a part of the photos before the ceremony!
Raving Reviews
"Marmaros Productions was AMAZING to work with! We had the Riesling package, and it was a wonderful experience! Megan met with us 4 times before the month of our wedding and also communicated with us over email and phone countless times. These check-ins were great because she helped to make sure we were on track with our planning and gave us advice on what to work on next! The month of our wedding and the day of our wedding, Marmaros was somehow even more incredible! Megan was so thorough during our walkthrough and with all of the details, we communicated with her beforehand. Our wedding took a lot of coordination between many vendors, decor setup, and last-minute additions. Megan was even able to add on some pieces of furniture rentals the morning of our wedding (more comfortable chairs for our grandparents) & our entire family was SO grateful for that! Megan and Mallory were both with us the day of the wedding, and they both have an amazing ability to somehow juggle running the entire wedding AND checking in with you constantly. Our wedding was so smooth and stress-free! We loved it so much and cannot thank Megan and Mallory enough for making it happen! We love them and cannot recommend them enough!"
Happily Ever After
Working with Grace & Richard was so fun and easy! They both had a vision and hired the best vendors to help their ideas come to life! We know that these two will continue to love each other well as they enter the next chapter of their lives. Congratulations Grace & Richard on a beautiful wedding and a gorgeous marriage.
