Alexis & Ross

8.6.2022 | The Venue at Twin Oaks

How We Met

Alexis & Ross reached out to us about a year before their wedding day - even though they didn’t have a venue or a date nailed down yet. They found us through The Knot and they were looking for a coordination team that would let them relax on their wedding day. They were most interested in our Merlot or Champagne level and needed just a little more assistance so they didn’t have to lift a finger. We connected over Google Meets and once they booked their venue, we were booked to help them with their wedding!

Love Story

“Alexis and Ross met in 2018 during their freshman year at the University of West Georgia. They both attended weekly services at a campus ministry at UWG. The first memory Alexis has of Ross is when he was knocking Bible Trivia out of the park one Tuesday night. He was showing off for her, and she took the bait. She thought he was too good to be true! They went on their first date just a few days before Alexis would leave for an 8-week long discipleship training program in Florida. They went on their "second" first date a few weeks after Alexis returned, and the rest, as they say, is history!

On August 7, 2021 Ross proposed to Alexis in the rain at a beautiful private lake property. There are few things Alexis loves more than being on the water. The Lord was so evident on the day they got engaged, and they are so excited to see how He blesses this next phase of their lives together. Alexis and Ross want to thank each and every one of you for pouring into their lives and relationships with the Lord and each other.”

Down to Business

With Alexis & Ross living in West Georgia, we did all of our meetings over video chat which always works perfectly! We got to know each other as we talked about their wedding and expectations for the day. We finally met each other for the first time in person the month before their wedding for their walk through and we felt like we had known each other for forever! We walked through their venue and talked about details which made us all so excited for their wedding day!

The Big Day

One thing we love about The Venue at Twin Oaks is that you can rent the cottages and caves to stay in the night before the wedding. All the wedding party and family got to stay together but also got to wake up and get ready together without coordinating driving! The morning started early with Brittany Daniels Miller getting the ladies’ hair done and Hanna Dean Makeup getting the ladies ready for the day! When we arrived, so did Chick-fil-A so everyone could eat lunch before the day picked up! We checked in on the guys to make sure they were doing great before heading down to the venue itself to start laying out decorations and decorating. Not too long later, Morgen Norwood Designs arrived with flowers and more decorations to fill in the tables and make them beautiful. We had a threat of rain as the afternoon went on, but once we got our wedding day good luck sprinkle, Morgen Norwood Designs went outside to decorate the arbor.

Meanwhile, Erica Dortch Photography arrived and began doing the detail photos while the girls were putting the finishing touches on their hair and makeup and the guys had started to get ready. After getting ready photos, Alexis stepped into her dress from Magnolia Laine (which she looked STUNNING in) and did a first look with her ladies. Alexis got some photos alone before we moved her to do a first look with her dad. The first look was so sweet as the two exchanged gifts and encouraging words. The next first look was with Ross who was waiting for Alexis down at the adorable chapel. This first look was so emotional as Ross saw Alexis for the first time and had all of us behind the scenes in tears watching them! Ross had already delivered Alexis’ gift (the gorgeous earrings she’s wearing) but it was Alexis’ turn to give Ross his gift - a stunning watch! Once the two got some photos together, we made our way up to the venue where the bridal party was waiting to take photos with our perfect couple. We still had one more first look to do! Alexis’ brother wanted to see her alone before we kept going with photos!

We were putting the final touches on the ceremony site as the wedding party finished photos and went back inside as guests began to arrive! Once all guests found their seats, we started the processional with family and then the wedding party before Alexis made her way down the aisle with her father. We loved how Clinton, the officiant, knew Alexis & Ross so well and brought in personal stories of the two of them and helped the guests become a part of the bride & groom’s story. We heard personal vows from Alexis & Ross before they took communion as their first act as husband and wife. Their entire ceremony was based on how well these two love not only each other but the Lord as well and how that is so reflected in their actions! Next, Alexis & Ross were FINALLY announced as husband and wife as they made their way back down the aisle to have a private moment while guests cleared out the ceremony area. We did family photos and a few more photos of Alexis & Ross before transitioning to reception party mode!

Guests were asked to hang out in the courtyard/dance floor area as we introduced the wedding party and our newlyweds before they went into their first dance. Alexis’ father gave a welcome speech and a blessing before guests were asked to find their seats and wait to be released to the food truck. Alexis & Ross took care of their guests by ordering UNLIMITED tacos from Tex’s Tacos and everyone was so excited! As everyone enjoyed the evening and their tacos, Alexis & Ross snuck out for sunset photos before we cut the cake from our favorite bakery - Publix, heard toasts from the maid of honor and best man, and watched both Alexis & Ross dance with their parents.

Once we were done with all the formalities, it was time to open the dance floor! DJ Connection really knew how to read this crowd and made sure everyone was on the dance floor! Alexis & Ross had LED wands for everyone to dance with and the night was so fun as we danced under the string lights! Before we knew it it was time to head home! As the guests lined up for the flower petal send-off, Alexis & Ross had one more dance in private - just the two of them. Then they ran through a sprinkle of petals on their way to the beautiful classic car waiting for them to take them into their happily ever after!

Something Spectacular

We all know how HOT Georgia can be in August and that little fact was not lost on Alexis & Ross either. They decided to take care of their guests with a welcome table complete with ice-cold water and ceremony programs that also were fans. This way, their guests who came to witness them get married under the twin oaks were hydrated and comfortable! So thoughtful!

Raving Reviews

"I could never possibly thank Megan and Marmaros Productions enough for being a part of our wedding! From our very first meeting, Megan listened to our every thought, request, and idea. She gave the best suggestions to help our dream wedding come to life while being reasonable and cost-effective. She was so punctual, relatable, and flexible. She knew exactly what we wanted/needed before we even knew sometimes. I loved having her throughout our entire season of wedding planning. Not many wedding planners are both reasonably priced and begin working with you from the time you book with them. The investment is so worth the planning support and advice we received. Our parents, bridal party, and guests were so thankful to have Megan to go to on our wedding day so they did not have to come to us with their questions. We were able to be fully present on our wedding day without managing vendors, venue staff, and guests. Hiring Marmaros is easily one of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding! We love you guys and can't thank you enough!"

Happily Ever After

It was truly an honor working with Alexis & Ross to make sure they had the best wedding day ever! These two have such a sweet love and were so fun to work with. We know that their future together is planted in Christ and even though the road may not always be easy, they will always have each other. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Clifton! We love you!
